Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate, dedicate, and lay foundation stones for development projects exceeding Rs 21,700 crore during his upcoming visit to Gujarat and Daman. The focus of the program will be on major infrastructure works in transportation, healthcare, power, and maritime sectors. PM Modi expressed his intent to enhance the “Ease of Living” for the people through these initiatives.
During his visit, PM Modi will first visit Hazira in Surat district to oversee ongoing industrial operations and infrastructure projects. Subsequently, he will attend a public event where projects worth approximately Rs 18,800 crore will be either inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, or have their foundation stones laid. Notable projects in Surat include sections of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway and the four-laning of critical stretches of National Highway-56.
In addition to inaugurating the new terminal building at NAMO Airport in Daman to enhance regional connectivity, PM Modi will also dedicate NAMO Hospital to the public. Furthermore, he will unveil and lay foundation stones for projects valued at around Rs 2,970 crore in the Union Territory, including the Daman Convention Centre and the NIFT Campus. The Prime Minister also announced the laying of foundation stones for development projects in Lakshadweep, focusing on port facilities on Kalpeni Island and Kadmat Island.
The visit aims to bolster transport connectivity, industrial infrastructure, healthcare services, power systems, and maritime development in Gujarat, Daman, and Lakshadweep.
