Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that Punjab is hopeful about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) development agenda, with a rally scheduled in Jalandhar on July 17. Projects worth around Rs 25,000 crore, including Rs 14,700 crore in Haryana’s Jind, will be rolled out, focusing on areas like railways, healthcare, culture, and education.

In Jalandhar, projects exceeding Rs 5,400 crore will either be inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid, with a significant emphasis on railway infrastructure development. The upcoming program will witness the dedication of 75 redeveloped railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, aiming to enhance passenger experience and promote development.

PM Modi expressed anticipation for his visit to Chandigarh, where works worth over Rs 4,700 crore will be initiated or inaugurated, including advancements in healthcare facilities and road connectivity projects. Additionally, India’s first hydrogen train will be flagged off between Jind and Sonipat, marking a significant step towards adopting clean technology in the railway sector.

The Prime Minister highlighted various projects that will enhance connectivity between different regions, such as Delhi and Amritsar, Ambala and Kala Amb, and Jind and Gohana. Furthermore, the foundation stone for a Sikh Museum in Kurukshetra will be laid, showcasing the rich history and contributions of Sikhism to the nation.

The BJP organized a statewide cleanliness campaign ahead of PM Modi’s visit, with leaders acknowledging the government’s initiatives benefiting Punjab, including facilitating FCRA registration for Sri Harmandir Sahib and supporting Sikh welfare and national integration through various schemes and projects.
