Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil the 22nd instalment of the ‘PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme’ in Assam on March 13. This release will benefit over 9.32 crore farmers nationwide, amounting to more than Rs 18,640 crore. In Gujarat, around 49.59 lakh farmer families will receive over Rs 1,028 crore directly into their bank accounts.
A virtual interaction will involve farmers from Gujarat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel during the address. Agriculture and spokesperson minister Jitu Vaghani announced the significant impact of the 22nd instalment, extending the scheme’s benefits to various agricultural entities. A state-level event chaired by Chief Minister Patel will be held in Gandhinagar as part of this initiative.
The PM Kisan scheme in Gujarat has already provided more than Rs 22,069 crore to 69.24 lakh beneficiary farmer families through 21 instalments. Nationally, over 11 crore farmer families have received Rs 4,09,000 crore under this scheme. The 22nd instalment continues to support farmers across India with direct financial assistance, ensuring timely aid to agricultural households.
Chief Minister Patel recently reviewed the state’s reservoir water levels in preparation for the summer season. Positive monsoon rainfall has significantly boosted water storage in major reservoirs, with current levels at 6.46 lakh MCFT, representing over 72% capacity. This increase from last year ensures ample water supply for citizens and farmers during the upcoming summer months.
