Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam and West Bengal on Friday and Saturday to participate in various programs and launch significant development projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and infrastructure in the region. The Prime Minister will be attending events in Kokrajhar, Guwahati, and Silchar in Assam before heading to Kolkata in West Bengal. These initiatives are expected to allow PM Modi to engage with people from different parts of the two states while unveiling key development projects.
During his visit, PM Modi will kick off a series of road connectivity projects in Kokrajhar, known for its association with the cultural heritage of the Bodo community. One of the major projects to be launched is Assam Mala 3.0, a significant road development program aimed at improving connectivity within Assam and strengthening transport links with neighboring regions. Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate three new train services to enhance rail connectivity across the Northeast and eastern India, including the Kamakhya–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, the Guwahati–New Jalpaiguri Express, and the Narangi–Agartala Express.
Officials have highlighted that PM Modi’s visit underscores the government’s focus on infrastructure expansion and connectivity in the Northeast, which has been the focus of various development initiatives in recent years. Following his engagements in Silchar on March 14, the Prime Minister will proceed to Kolkata for further events in West Bengal.
