Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Odisha on June 20 to participate in a significant event at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district, commemorating two years of the BJP government in the state. President Droupadi Murmu will accompany him, marking a rare occasion where Odisha will host the top two constitutional functionaries of the country together.
The joint visit is expected to bring national attention to Odisha and highlight the state’s increasing importance in the political and developmental landscape of India. The visit itinerary includes a visit to Pahadpur, the President’s in-laws’ village in Mayurbhanj district, where both dignitaries will offer prayers at various locations.
Scheduled activities during the visit aim to emphasize efforts to enhance educational opportunities, skill development, and socio-economic empowerment in tribal and rural areas. The Prime Minister and President will participate in a program at Rairangpur, focusing on the theme “Vikas ra Dhara, Odisha Sara,” marking the completion of two years of the Government of Odisha.
The program will witness the inauguration and laying of foundation stones for various developmental projects worth over Rs 47,600 crore in sectors like energy, industrial infrastructure, road connectivity, health, education, tourism, and irrigation. PM Modi is expected to address a large public gathering at Rairangpur, emphasizing the projects’ significance in strengthening infrastructure, improving connectivity, and generating employment opportunities across Odisha.
