Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the Somnath Temple in Gujarat on Monday. His two-day trip will include participation in various religious, administrative, and community events across Gir Somnath and Vadodara. PM Modi’s visit began in Jamnagar on Sunday night, with tight security and a warm welcome organized in Jamnagar, Somnath, and Vadodara.
On Monday morning, PM Modi will join the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav at the temple, commemorating 75 years since its restoration. The Prime Minister’s schedule includes involvement in Vishesh Maha Puja, Kumbhabhishek, and Dhvajarohan ceremonies. Additionally, he will unveil a commemorative stamp and coin during the occasion.
Following recent electoral successes in local self-government elections in Gujarat and West Bengal, a roadshow to Vadodara is planned. Officials anticipate a significant turnout for the public welcome program. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi expressed the enthusiasm of people across Gujarat for the Prime Minister’s visit.
In Vadodara, PM Modi will inaugurate the Sardar Dham Bhavan-3, also known as the Shri Dushyant and Daksha Patel Complex. This complex, constructed near Vaghodia Crossing, spans around 4.75 lakh square feet and cost approximately Rs 150 crore. It features accommodation rooms, an NRI guest house, an e-library, a career guidance center, training facilities, and an auditorium with a capacity of about 1,000.
During the visit, PM Modi will be honored with the ‘Sardar Ratna’ award by leading Patidar community organizations for his contributions to social reforms. The event is expected to be attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister, members of the state cabinet, and representatives from various sectors. The inauguration is part of “Mission 2026,” aiming to enhance educational infrastructure.
