He suggested using public transport, working from home, and avoiding non-essential purchases and overseas travel to support India’s economy during challenging times. PM Modi highlighted the importance of patriotism in responsible living and urged the nation to prioritize saving foreign exchange by reducing petrol and diesel consumption.
In addition to promoting fuel-saving practices, the Prime Minister called for the revival of Covid-era efficiency measures like work-from-home arrangements and virtual meetings. He encouraged citizens to contribute to conserving foreign exchange reserves by opting for domestic tourism and celebrations within India instead of unnecessary foreign travel. PM Modi also advised against non-essential gold purchases and recommended supporting locally made products to strengthen the national economy.
Furthermore, PM Modi addressed the agricultural sector, urging farmers to reduce chemical fertilizer usage, adopt natural farming practices, and embrace solar-powered irrigation pumps to reduce import dependence. He acknowledged the global supply chain crisis exacerbated by recent conflicts and emphasized the need for collective efforts to overcome challenges. The Prime Minister underscored the impact of rising global prices on India due to its reliance on imports for essential commodities like petrol, diesel, and fertilizers.
