Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Varanasi for a two-day visit, receiving a warm welcome from Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and senior BJP leaders at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. The visit highlights significant women’s participation at the ‘Jan-Aakrosh Mahila Sammelan’ at BLW Ground, where PM Modi is set to address and unveil 163 development projects aimed at boosting regional growth.
Upon arrival, PM Modi traveled to the Bareka helipad by helicopter and then proceeded to the guest house. The event, managed entirely by women, emphasizes women-led leadership, with a strong focus on empowerment, safety, self-reliance, and equal opportunities. The gathering is expected to witness a large turnout of women and female students, with 44 women representatives sharing the stage, addressing various crucial issues.
During the visit, PM Modi, accompanied by CM Yogi Adityanath and other ministers, visited the Kashi Vishwanath Dham to offer prayers. A series of 163 projects worth Rs 6,332.08 crore will be inaugurated and their foundation stones laid, covering sectors like road infrastructure, healthcare, education, water supply, sanitation, sports facilities, and urban development. These initiatives aim to bolster infrastructure in Purvanchal and drive regional progress.
