Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Australian data centre firm AirTrunk’s plan to invest around Rs 3 lakh crore ($30 billion) in India. This substantial investment is set to enhance India’s standing as a global center for cloud computing and AI. It is expected to create job opportunities, boost local supply chains, and spur innovation-driven growth.

AirTrunk’s investment includes the development of 5 GW of data centre capacity, marking a significant commitment to India’s digital infrastructure sector. PM Modi highlighted the momentum in India’s digital infrastructure journey, with increasing global investments flowing into the country.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of such investments in strengthening India’s data center ecosystem. This move comes at a crucial time when the demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data storage is surging across various industries.

According to PM Modi, these initiatives will reinforce India’s position in the global digital economy. The growing confidence in India’s technology ecosystem is evident through the rise in such investments.

PM Modi underscored India’s emergence as a key player in next-generation digital infrastructure, driven by supportive policies, innovation, and a skilled workforce.
