Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended birthday wishes to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, praising his dedication to the state’s progress. PM Modi highlighted Adityanath’s focus on enhancing people’s quality of life and ensuring overall development. He expressed prayers for Adityanath’s long and healthy life.
Yogi Adityanath, born on June 5, 1972, in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, is a prominent Hindu monk and political leader. He holds a significant position in the BJP and is the only leader to have served two consecutive full terms as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, a crucial state in Indian politics.
Adityanath, who joined the Ram Temple movement in Ayodhya in the 1990s, emerged as a key figure during the Babri Masjid demolition campaign. Under the guidance of Mahant Avaidyanath, the then head of the Gorakhnath Math, he deepened his spiritual journey.
Currently serving as the mahant of the Gorakhnath Math in Gorakhpur, CM Yogi is renowned for advocating Hindutva ideology and actively participating in BJP’s election strategies since 2017. His administration’s stringent measures against alleged unauthorized constructions, often using bulldozers, have earned him the moniker “Bulldozer Baba.”
Yogi Adityanath, originally Ajay Singh Bisht from Panchur village in Uttarakhand’s Garhwal region, was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1998 from the Gorakhpur constituency. He successfully retained the seat in four subsequent elections. In 2017, he relinquished his parliamentary position upon becoming the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, a role he has held for two consecutive terms.
