During his visit, PM Modi and Rob Jetten visited the Afsluitdijk Dam, symbolizing Dutch excellence in water management. They discussed the importance of modern technology in areas such as irrigation, flood control, and inland waterway network expansion. The leaders also held discussions on strengthening the India-Netherlands relationship and decided to elevate it to a “Strategic Partnership.”
Reflecting shared values and trust, PM Modi and Rob Jetten agreed to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, defense, security, technology, maritime sector, renewable energy, and education. They acknowledged the promising business prospects for Dutch companies in India and emphasized collaboration on large-scale water projects under the Strategic Partnership on Water.
PM Modi thanked the Netherlands government for facilitating the return of the 11th-century Chola plates, highlighting strong cultural relations between the two nations. He also appreciated the contributions of the Indian diaspora in the Netherlands and extended OCI Card eligibility for the Surinamese Hindustani community. The visit included meetings with the King and Queen of the Netherlands to enhance friendship across various sectors like technology, innovation, sustainable growth, commerce, and water resources.
