A video message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi was played during the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Kota–Bundi Greenfield Airport and the launch of major drinking water projects. The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the day for the Hadoti region, emphasizing the state’s progress through recent development projects. He distributed appointment letters to over 21,000 youths from Rajasthan during the event.
The launch of two major development initiatives within a week in Rajasthan showcases the state’s rapid development pace, as noted by Prime Minister Modi. He described the occasion as a day of new hope and achievement for the Hadoti region, including Kota, Bundi, Baran, and Jhalawar. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla mentioned the long-standing demand for a greenfield airport in the region, fulfilled by Prime Minister Modi.
Efforts spanning years under various state governments culminated in the establishment of the greenfield airport. Speaker Birla highlighted the region’s existing strong connectivity and emphasized the added air connectivity’s role in accelerating development. The Kota–Bundi Greenfield Airport, costing Rs 1,507 crore, will have a passenger handling capacity of 1,000 passengers at a time and is expected to be completed within two years.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu expressed expectations for the airport’s completion within the next two years. The terminal building will reflect the cultural heritage of the Hadoti region, ensuring visitors experience the region’s identity and hospitality. Chief Minister Sharma reiterated the government’s commitment to providing water for every farm and safe drinking water for every household in Rajasthan.
