PMK president Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss reiterated his party’s dedication to achieving comprehensive social justice for all communities in Tamil Nadu as the Vanniyar Sangam celebrated its foundation day. He highlighted the organization’s establishment as a significant milestone in the state’s social justice movement, emphasizing the importance of providing equal opportunities for every segment of society. Anbumani extended his best wishes to the Vanniyar community members, workers, and all those advocating for social justice.
The Vanniyar Sangam, founded by PMK founder Dr. S. Ramadoss, aims to secure social justice for Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and minority communities in Tamil Nadu. Anbumani credited the organization for its role in promoting discussions on fair representation and reservation policies in the state. He underlined the day of the Vanniyar Sangam’s inception as a pivotal moment in Tamil Nadu’s social justice narrative, emphasizing the necessity of data-driven policies for ensuring equal opportunities.
Dr. Ramadoss had pushed for a caste-based population census in Tamil Nadu and advocated for reservation in education and government jobs based on each community’s population strength. The movement called for increased reservation benefits for the Vanniyar community, one of the state’s largest, and a rise in reservation for Scheduled Castes in proportion to their population. Anbumani highlighted these demands as fundamental to the campaign for fair representation.
Anbumani pointed out that the call for a caste census has progressed significantly, with both the Union and state governments gearing up for caste-based population enumeration. This step marks a crucial advancement in the movement’s longstanding pursuit of social justice. Emphasizing that the battle continues, the PMK leader stressed the ultimate goal of ensuring complete social justice for all communities in Tamil Nadu through equitable representation and equal access to education and job opportunities.
Encouraging supporters and the public to stay dedicated to the cause, Anbumani urged individuals to use the Vanniyar Sangam’s foundation day as a platform to reaffirm their commitment to building an inclusive society where every community receives justice in alignment with its requirements and aspirations.
