Police in Srinagar district, Jammu and Kashmir, have seized property valued at around Rs 2 crore from drug peddlers. This action is part of the ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking and narcotics networks in the region. The attached properties include a residential house and land acquired through illicit narcotics activities.
In one case, immovable property worth about Rs 1.5 crore belonging to a drug peddler named Mudasir Ahmad Pir was seized. The property, including a double-storey house and land, was confirmed to be acquired through illegal drug trafficking. Another property worth approximately Rs 50 lakh, owned by another drug peddler, Shafiq Ahmad Khawaja, was also attached by the police.
These attachment proceedings were conducted under the NDPS Act after due confirmation from the Competent Authority. The police are determined to disrupt the financial infrastructure of drug trafficking networks and target assets acquired through illegal means. The public is encouraged to support law enforcement agencies by providing information on drug-related activities in their communities.
In a separate incident in Shopian district, J&K Police attached an immovable property worth Rs 22.35 lakh belonging to Gh Rasool Dar. The property, acquired through drug trade proceeds, was seized as part of the crackdown on narcotics-related activities. The police emphasized their commitment to combating drug crimes and urged the public to report any information on drug trafficking.
