In a crackdown on illegal gambling, the East District Police’s Special Staff dismantled a racket in the Indira Camp area of Mayur Vihar, leading to the arrest of 17 individuals. The operation uncovered a QR code for digital money collection, two gambling registers, diaries, betting slips, and cash amounting to Rs 8,891.
An FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the Delhi Public Gambling Act at Police Station Mayur Vihar, with investigations ongoing to trace the broader network and financial transactions of the illicit operation. The raid was part of the police’s efforts to combat unlawful betting and gambling activities in the region.
The accused were found managing gambling records through registers and diaries, with payments facilitated via a QR code system. The police action, conducted under the supervision of ACP Operations Pawan Kumar and Inspector Jitendra Malik, aimed to curb the prevalence of illegal gambling in the area.
