Police in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir, have taken action against individuals who defied the orders of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM). The District Police in Reasi is enforcing strict compliance with rules regarding tenant verification and lawful directives. During a recent verification drive at Daba Morh, tenants were found residing without the required verification, leading to the registration of FIRs against them.
In one instance, an unauthorized pony operator named Shabir Khan was caught working without a valid registration card on the SMVD Track. Similarly, at Kakryal, tenants were found without verification, resulting in the registration of FIRs against the property owner. Additionally, a person named Onkar Singh was apprehended and penalized by the court under relevant sections.
The enforcement operations were conducted by the police under the supervision of senior officers. The SSP of Reasi district emphasized the importance of landlords and service providers adhering to tenant verification norms to avoid legal consequences. Similar actions have been taken in Srinagar and Jammu districts against property owners who did not follow the required procedures for hosting guests, including foreigners.
