Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district have successfully cracked down on several drug operations, seizing a significant amount of ‘Charas’ (Marijuana) and detaining multiple individuals. In a series of operations, the Anantnag Police recovered illicit substances and arrested several suspects involved in drug trafficking.
During one operation at Police Station Srigufwara, authorities raided a residence based on specific intelligence, uncovering 6.614 kilograms of charas belonging to Naseer Ahmad in Shirhama. Although the accused was not present, efforts are ongoing to apprehend him, with a case filed for the incident.
In a separate incident, a police team from Police Station Larnoo, conducting routine security checks at Bidhad Bridge, detained Hameed Sheikh and seized 32 grams of charas from him. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to delve deeper into the matter.
Moreover, at a checkpoint set up by the Police Component Pahalgam at Wullarhama, a biker named Danish Ahmad Kumar was arrested with approximately 100 grams of a charas-like substance. The authorities are conducting further investigations into this case to uncover more details.
In another operation, police intercepted a vehicle at Panjpora, leading to the arrest of Taseen Ramzan Bhat and the recovery of 32 grams of charas in stick form and 292 grams of charas powder. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and the investigation is progressing steadily.
Additionally, Feroz Ahmad Mundu, a daily wage worker in the PDD Department, was apprehended in Halmulla with around 270 grams of charas powder. Law enforcement has initiated an investigation into the matter, emphasizing their commitment to combatting drug-related activities in the region.
The Anantnag Police has reaffirmed its dedication to eradicating the drug menace and has urged the public to assist by reporting any information concerning drug trafficking or other illicit operations.
