The police in Sopore town, Jammu and Kashmir, have apprehended four drug peddlers and confiscated codeine bottles and psychotropic capsules. This action was part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan aimed at curbing drug trafficking networks. In separate operations, the police arrested the suspects and seized a significant quantity of narcotic substances.
During a patrol in the Badambagh area, the police encountered three individuals acting suspiciously and attempting to evade capture. Upon search, the police found 150 bottles of Codeine-based syrup in their possession. The arrested individuals were identified as Irfan Ahmad Peer, Ajaz Ahmad Mattoo, and Umer Zahoor Najar, all residents of Badambagh.
In a different operation at Sangrama-Seer Crossing, the police intercepted Majid Ashraf Khan and discovered Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus capsules on his person. Subsequently, FIR No. 88/2026 under the NDPS Act was filed at Police Station Tarzoo, with investigations ongoing. These consecutive operations highlight the intensified efforts by Sopore Police to combat drug networks and safeguard the youth from drug abuse.
