Police in Baramulla district, Jammu and Kashmir, have seized a Maruti Alto-800, bought with drug money, as part of their anti-drug efforts. The vehicle, with registration number JK05K-7701, was linked to a drug trafficking case under the NDPS Act and Excise Act. This action is part of a broader crackdown on narcotics-related crimes in the region.

Authorities revealed that the vehicle was purchased using profits from illegal drug sales and was registered under a family member’s name to hide ownership. The accused, Abdul Ahad Magray from Baramulla, is implicated in drug peddling cases. The attachment of assets like this car is aimed at preventing accused individuals from benefiting from unlawful activities.

Law enforcement agencies are intensifying efforts to combat drug trafficking and disrupt financial networks supporting the narcotics trade. The police are focused on dismantling drug networks and preventing the misuse of illegal proceeds. Investigations into these cases are ongoing to ensure accountability and deter drug-related crimes in the region.
