Police in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir, conducted a significant operation against drug peddlers, resulting in the arrest of five individuals across three separate incidents. The arrests were made under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan, a campaign to combat drug abuse in the region.
In the first action, two suspects were apprehended at a checkpoint in Janwara Crossing by Police Post Warpora. They attempted to flee but were caught, and psychotropic substance Alprazolam tablets were found in their possession.
In another incident, two individuals were arrested at Malpora Crossing by Police Post Warpora after attempting to evade the police. Alprazolam tablets were also discovered on them. Subsequently, a third individual was intercepted at Shalimar Colony Sopore during patrolling, and Codeine Phosphate was seized from him.
