Police in Mandya, Karnataka, are actively searching for a gynaecologist who is on the run in connection with an alleged illegal sex determination racket involving minor pregnant girls. The illegal tests were reportedly carried out at two diagnostic centers in K.R. Pet town. A total of 24 scans were conducted at Naavi Diagnostics Centre, with seven scans at Kushal Diagnostics Centre.

Three individuals, including Dr. Divya Chetana, Dr. Harshit, and Dr. Harish, have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. However, Dr. Priyanka, another gynaecologist involved, is currently evading authorities. A search operation has been launched to locate her.

Twelve FIRs have been filed against 17 accused individuals, which include a government doctor, a junior health assistant, an ASHA worker, and private individuals. The Karnataka Lokayukta has taken notice of the case, with investigations ongoing to address the violations of the law, including failure to report minors under 18 years of age as required by the POCSO Act.
