Police in Rajasthan have announced cash rewards for the arrest of four individuals involved in a black flag protest against Rajasthan BJP President Madan Rathore. The protest took place during Rathore’s visit to Kuchaman City on May 30. Nagaur MP and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) chief Hanuman Beniwal criticized the Rajasthan government’s handling of the protest, emphasizing that expressing disagreement in a democracy should not be considered a crime.
To aid in the arrest of the absconding protestors, police have offered rewards totaling Rs 5,000 for Bhuraram Sheshma, Rs 2,100 each for Ramniwas Kantia, Mukesh Saran alias Modi, and Dinesh Kukna. The public has been urged to provide any information on the whereabouts of these individuals, with assurances of confidentiality for informants.
The case was registered on May 30 at Kuchaman City Police Station based on complaints filed by Vijay Singh Palada and CI Satpal Singh. The rewards have been announced as part of the police’s efforts to locate the individuals and progress the investigation. Kuchaman City SHO Mahavir Prasad confirmed that the actions were taken under the Superintendent of Police’s directives.
RLP chief Beniwal further questioned the government’s response to the protest, highlighting that the RLP workers were initially detained for allegedly disrupting peace and later charged with obstructing government work. He criticized the announcement of rewards for their arrest, raising concerns about the state government’s tolerance and morality.
The protest initially occurred during Madan Rathore’s visit to Kuchaman City, where RLP workers displayed black flags and voiced slogans against the state government. A confrontation ensued between protesters and police near Jawahar School, leading to a lathi-charge by the police and the detention of several activists. The incident has sparked a political dispute between the BJP and RLP, with ongoing developments in the case.
