Police investigation into the Golf Green double death case uncovered that a flat, rented by Mohammad Dilshad, was frequently used for house parties involving young men and women. These gatherings involved the consumption of drugs and alcohol, as well as the filming of obscene reels. A senior officer from Kolkata Police described the flat as a center for substance abuse, leading to addiction among the youth.
The shocking details emerged during the initial police inquiry into the couple’s death in Golf Green. Following the autopsy, doctors informed the police that the cause of death was a drug overdose. The bodies of Mohammad Dilshad and his girlfriend Mehuli Sanyal were found in the flat in Golf Green. Mehuli’s mother, a resident of Ramgarh in south Kolkata, suspected foul play in her daughter’s death.
In response to the complaint, the police swiftly apprehended a couple, Mushtaq Ali Mollah alias Rohit and Anjali Bangiro, along with a youth named Chandan Paswan. The trio, along with Dilshad and Mehuli, had a ‘house party’ the night before. Chandan departed the flat on Saturday afternoon, prompting investigators to look into allegations of sexually explicit video recordings at the premises.
To delve deeper, a forensic team visited the flat on Monday to collect samples for drug analysis. The initial autopsy findings indicated that Mehuli succumbed first, followed shortly by Dilshad. Mehuli’s head injury was attributed to a fall, with both deaths primarily linked to excessive intoxication. Further revelations suggested Mehuli had been living with multiple partners since leaving her home in 2023, with Mushtaq being her most recent live-in partner.
The investigation highlighted a pattern of young individuals gathering for nights of alcohol and drug consumption in exchange for payments to Dilshad. The police are actively pursuing additional leads to unravel the full extent of the situation.
