Political activity has escalated in anticipation of the Bankipur Assembly by-election in Bihar, with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) showing a united front in support of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Abhishek Kumar.
Janata Dal-United National Working President Sanjay Jha, speaking in Patna, emphasized the alliance’s clarity on the candidature, affirming that all NDA members would rally behind the BJP nominee. Abhishek Kumar is hailed as the NDA’s consensus candidate, with full backing from all five alliance partners.
Leaders and workers from each NDA constituent party are set to engage in the nomination process and subsequent campaign endeavors. Senior alliance figures are expected to join the public meeting post the nomination filing, with a joint election campaign planned.
Sanjay Jha highlighted Abhishek Kumar’s recent meeting with former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who extended blessings to the BJP candidate. He underscored the NDA’s unity and lauded the cohesive functioning of the state government under Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
In a critique aimed at the Opposition, Sanjay Jha questioned the Congress’s role in the Bankipur by-election and targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He alleged a disconnect between Rahul Gandhi and Bihar, suggesting a lack of focus by the Congress leadership on the state’s issues.
Jha also raised doubts about the Opposition INDIA bloc’s coherence, particularly questioning the Congress’s candidate support and alliance unity. While the Opposition alliance appears fragmented, the NDA is gearing up for the election with solidarity and coordination.
Responding to queries about Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav’s foreign visit, Sanjay Jha noted the RJD’s candidate nomination and emphasized the NDA’s proactive campaign stance. The Bankipur Assembly by-election has evolved into a significant political showdown, showcasing both the NDA and the Opposition’s organizational prowess.
