Political activity in Bihar has heightened as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government convenes a crucial meeting in Patna on Wednesday before the anticipated Cabinet expansion. The meeting, considered the final round of consultations, is a prelude to the formal announcement of the new ministerial team. Scheduled for 5:00 P.M. at the Chief Secretariat’s Cabinet Hall in Patna, the meeting will be followed by a press conference at 6:00 P.M. in the Information Building to share key decisions with the media.
Led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, the meeting aims to finalize arrangements for the upcoming expansion and ensure harmony within the NDA alliance. Governor Syed Ata Hasnain is set to administer the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-inducted ministers during the expansion ceremony. The Cabinet expansion, a result of extensive consultations between state and central NDA leadership, including discussions with senior BJP figures, is crucial for maintaining coalition balance and political coordination within the alliance.
In a significant move, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary met JD(U) National President Nitish Kumar, signaling unity within the NDA ahead of the expansion. The upcoming Cabinet expansion is expected to prioritize caste balance, regional representation, and the inclusion of experienced leaders and new faces from alliance partners like JD(U), BJP, LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM(S), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha. Today’s decisions will directly influence the composition of the new Bihar Cabinet.
