A political dispute has arisen in Kerala involving Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar and Congress MLA Chandy Oommen, centering on the legacies of their fathers, late R. Balakrishna Pillai and former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. The conflict has escalated amidst discussions on the solar case and ahead of significant elections. Ganesh Kumar accused the late Oommen Chandy of breaching personal trust and interfering in his family life.
Responding to allegations from Chandy Oommen that he influenced the prime accused in the solar case against Oommen Chandy, Ganesh Kumar cautioned against making claims without full knowledge. He also hinted at revealing more details publicly if further provoked. Chandy Oommen expressed distress over Ganesh Kumar’s comments about his late father during a recent UDF event in Pathanapuram.
Chandy Oommen raised concerns about the authenticity of an 18-page letter that reportedly expanded to 24 pages with his father’s name added later. He alleged that the CPI-M was manipulating the situation to tarnish Oommen Chandy’s reputation. The political clash has transitioned from policy matters to personal disputes, reigniting past controversies and overshadowing the legacies of two influential leaders in Kerala.
