The controversy surrounding BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s remarks about Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has intensified. Congress leaders have criticized Ranaut, accusing her of seeking attention through her comments. Punjab Congress President Amrinder Singh Raja Warring emphasized that Parliament is not a place for showbiz and criticized Ranaut for her statements.
Raja Warring highlighted that Ranaut’s repeated targeting of Rahul Gandhi stems from her belief that the BJP has sidelined her. He mentioned that Ranaut’s remarks are an attempt to stay relevant in the political arena. Taking a dig at her acting career, Warring mentioned that Ranaut’s comments are a way to maintain her relevance as her Bollywood career has also stalled.
Congress MP Jothimani criticized Ranaut, stating that being a celebrity or well-dressed does not define a person’s character. Jothimani questioned Ranaut’s political integrity and stated that appearance does not equate to goodness. Congress MLA Aslam Sheikh also condemned Ranaut, suggesting that she should introspect before criticizing others.
Sheikh advised Ranaut to reflect on her own past actions before passing judgment on others. He also criticized the BJP for endorsing Ranaut, pointing out that her past actions should have been considered before giving her a party ticket. The responses from Congress leaders came after Ranaut’s recent criticism of Rahul Gandhi’s behavior in Parliament, where she compared him unfavorably to his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
