Actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt recently shared a monochrome portrait showcasing the iconic style of the “flapper girl” from the 1920s. In the picture, she flaunts a retro hairstyle, bold eye makeup, and statement jewelry, capturing the essence of that era. Known for defying traditional norms, flapper girls were rebellious young women who embraced short hair, short dresses, and heavy makeup.
The 1920s, often referred to as the “Gatsby era,” symbolized a period of economic prosperity, consumerism, and cultural rebellion known as the “Jazz Age.” Pooja Bhatt, aged 54, is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and the half-sister of actress Alia Bhatt. She made her debut in the television film Daddy in 1989 and gained fame with the romantic comedy Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin in 1991, her highest-grossing movie.
Throughout the 1990s, Pooja received critical acclaim for her roles in various films like Sadak, Junoon, Naaraaz, Angrakshak, Chaahat, Tamanna, Border, Kabhi Na Kabhi, Angaaray, and Zakhm. After a break, she returned to the screen in Chup: Revenge of the Artist, directed by R. Balki, alongside Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, and Shreya Dhanwanthary. The movie, set in Mumbai, revolves around a serial killer targeting corrupt film critics.
Pooja Bhatt also participated in the reality show “Bigg Boss OTT 2,” where Elvish Yadav emerged as the winner and Abhishek Malhan was the runner-up. Her recent appearance on OTT was in Big Girls Don’t Cry, featuring Mukul Chadda, Raima Sen, Zoya Hussain, Avantika, Tenzin Lhakyila, Aneet Padda, Dalai, Vidushi, and Afrah Sayed.
