Filmmaker Pooja Bhatt expressed gratitude as her 2003 film “Jism” completed 23 years since its release in Hindi cinema. She shared images of actor John Abraham, who starred in the movie alongside Bipasha Basu. The film, inspired by “Body Heat” by Lawrence Kasdan, revolves around Kabir, an alcoholic lawyer whose life takes a turn when he meets Sonia, a mysterious woman married to a wealthy businessman named Rohit. As Kabir falls in love with Sonia, he is drawn into a dangerous relationship fueled by desire and obsession.
“Pooja Bhatt, the producer of ‘Jism,’ described the film as a work that reflected its era and reshaped discussions on desire, vulnerability, and music in Hindi cinema. The movie, released on January 17, 2003, is remembered for its enduring song and album. The storyline follows Kabir’s descent into a perilous liaison with Sonia, leading to a plot to eliminate her husband for his riches. However, as the narrative unfolds, Kabir uncovers Sonia’s true motives, resulting in a tale of passion, betrayal, and the consequences of ill-fated decisions.”
The sequel to “Jism,” directed by Pooja Bhatt, premiered in 2012 and marked Sunny Leone’s Bollywood debut. Alongside Leone, Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh played significant roles. The plot centers on Izna, an adult film star hired by an intelligence agency to ensnare Kabir, an ex-lover who is now a feared assassin. Complications arise when officer Aayan Thakur develops feelings for Izna.
