The ‘Poshan Tracker’ has gained nationwide coverage in all 28 States and 8 Union Territories, with more than 8.93 crore beneficiaries registered as of May, as announced by the government. This mobile-based tracker now facilitates the real-time monitoring of the Supplementary Nutrition Programme, with over 5.5 crore beneficiaries having received supplementary nutrition for at least 15 days and 5.17 crore for at least 21 days by May. The platform caters to six beneficiary categories spanning various life stages, emphasizing the all-encompassing nature of the ‘Poshan Abhiyaan.’
The ‘Poshan Tracker’ maintains a live monthly database that tracks nutrition indicators for over 7.7 crore children, utilizing verified Aadhaar-authenticated data. It offers functionalities such as real-time dashboards, heat maps, and evidence-based policymaking. Additionally, it has facilitated growth monitoring for over 6.3 crore children aged 0–5 years, covering nearly 94% of the registered beneficiaries as of May 2026. The application tracks indicators like stunting, underweight, wasting (SAM/MAM), and overweight or obesity.
‘Poshan Tracker’ is a mobile-based governance application that acts as the digital backbone of POSHAN Abhiyaan, serving as a crucial governance tool to enhance digital monitoring within the Abhiyaan. POSHAN Abhiyaan, India’s primary National Nutrition Mission, focuses on enhancing nutrition outcomes through convergence, technology, and community mobilization. It operates under a unified framework with specific targets, digital monitoring, and a Jan Andolan approach, according to the statement.
The ‘Poshan Tracker’ captures data related to Anganwadi infrastructure, service delivery, beneficiary coverage, and growth monitoring. Before the introduction of ‘Poshan Tracker,’ Anganwadi workers had to maintain 11 manual registers, leading to delays in decision-making and service gaps. The tracker addresses these challenges by incorporating technology-enabled features such as Aadhaar-Based Verification and Facial Recognition System (FRS).
