A strong storm accompanied by heavy rainfall hit Patna on Friday, leading to significant disruption in the city. The storm brought strong winds that uprooted trees, damaged vehicles, and caused power outages in various areas. The impact was particularly severe near the official residence of Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
Several trees fell around the Chief Minister’s residence and near the residence of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav. The fallen trees resulted in damage to multiple parked vehicles, with reports of injuries to some individuals and narrow escapes for security personnel. Additionally, a large tree fell within the premises of the RJD office in Patna.
The storm led to major traffic disruptions in different parts of Patna as uprooted trees and branches blocked roads. Traffic congestion was notable near the RJD office and along Bailey Road, affecting commuters heading towards the railway station and surrounding areas. Cleanup operations began promptly after the incidents, with municipal and disaster-response teams working to clear roads and restore normalcy.
Police and security forces were actively involved in assisting residents and ensuring their safety during the storm. Efforts are ongoing to remove fallen trees, repair electricity supply, and assess the overall damage caused by the sudden weather event. The swift and intense nature of the storm created panic among residents, prompting authorities to focus on restoring order and monitoring affected areas in the city.
