Prashant Kishor, Jan Suraaj convenor, along with the family of a deceased NEET aspirant from Jehanabad, met Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma to discuss the case. They sought a compassionate approach in handling those accused of protesting the incident to avoid unnecessary legal actions. Kishor emphasized the need for a fair investigation by the recently formed Special Investigation Team (SIT) to ensure justice for the affected parties.
During the meeting, Kishor highlighted the family’s concerns about alleged bias by a female investigating officer and demanded appropriate departmental measures. He also addressed the protests and FIRs filed against the victim’s family and students, urging the SSP to consider a more empathetic response. Kishor expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation under the SIT’s supervision and stressed the importance of allowing the team to reach an impartial conclusion independently.
Kishor reiterated the family’s quest for justice and criticized the authorities for dismissing claims of sexual assault, which had fueled public outrage. He warned of further action if the culprits were not held accountable and if the family’s grievances remained unaddressed. The meeting, attended by various senior leaders, aimed to ensure a just resolution for the victim’s family.
