Prateek Yadav, the younger son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest, as confirmed by the post-mortem report. The autopsy revealed that he suffered from a severe condition called “massive pulmonary thromboembolism,” where a blood clot from the lower body obstructed an artery in the lungs, leading to a cardiorespiratory collapse.
The post-mortem report mentioned that samples of cardiac and pulmonary thromboembolic materials were retained for further examination, while the viscera were preserved for chemical analysis and handed over to the authorities. Prateek Yadav, aged 38 and the half-brother of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, succumbed to his illness in Lucknow after a period of declining health.
Doctors from the Civil Hospital were dispatched to Prateek Yadav’s residence upon receiving reports of his deteriorating condition around 5 am. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead at approximately 5.55 am. Additionally, the post-mortem identified six injury marks on his body, indicating severe contusions and blood accumulation beneath the injuries, all of which were confirmed to have occurred before his death.
The medical team clarified that all the injuries observed on Prateek Yadav’s body were ante-mortem, meaning they happened before his demise. The report detailed that the injuries varied in age, with the first three being around 5 to 7 days old, while the remaining three were estimated to be approximately one day old.
