India all-rounder Prathyusha Challuru became the costliest purchase at Rs 4.5 lakh by Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters in the Maharani Trophy women’s section auction. The tournament, set to take place from July 22 to August 2 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, will feature four teams: Mysore Warriors, Gulbarga Mystics, Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters, and Hubli Tigers. The bidding war saw other teams like Mysuru Warriors and Hubli Tigers making significant acquisitions as well.
The auction allowed a maximum purse of Rs 20 lakh per franchise, with players categorized into four groups based on their base prices. Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters not only secured Prathyusha but also added other players like Chandasi K, Mithila Vinod, Namita D’Souza, and Ananya Hegde to their squad. Mysuru Warriors also made strategic purchases, including Shubha Satheesh, Shishira A Gowda, Sahana S Pawar, Pooja Kumari, and Pushpa Kiresur.
Gulbarga Mystics focused on experienced players, acquiring Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Shreya Chavan, Prerana GR, Soumya Verma, Roshini Kiran, and Aditi R. Hubli Tigers built a strong team around Vrinda Dinesh, adding players like Niki Prasad, Prathyoosha K, Divya Gnanananda, and Monica C Patel. The squads for all four teams have been finalized, with each team making key signings to bolster their lineups.
