The family was collecting black clams on Tatthehakalu beach near Bhatkal in Uttar Kannada. President Murmu conveyed her condolences, stating the incident was distressing, and she prayed for the injured’s swift recovery.
Vice President Radhakrishnan also mourned the tragedy, expressing deep sorrow over the incident. He offered heartfelt condolences to the affected families and prayed for their strength during this difficult time. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for each victim’s family, calling the incident tragic and painful.
