President Droupadi Murmu initiated celebrations marking the provision of 5 billion meals by the Akshaya Patra Foundation, emphasizing its role in advancing educational goals. The event’s theme, ‘From a Well-Nourished and Well-Educated India to a Developed India,’ highlighted the importance of a nourished and educated society in achieving the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
She stressed that ensuring a secure and prosperous future for children is a collective responsibility involving not just the government but all members of society. Collaboration among teachers, parents, social groups, the corporate sector, and all segments of society lays a strong foundation for the next generation, guaranteeing quality education, nutritious meals, good health, and a safe environment for every child.
Education, according to the President, plays a pivotal role in shaping individuals’ opportunities and success. It acts as a tool for empowerment and transformation, starting from a child’s early school years, equipping them with essential skills to navigate life’s challenges and become responsible citizens.
