President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a six-day tour of Odisha and Chhattisgarh from February 2 to 7, 2026, with a focus on education, tribal welfare, cultural promotion, and developmental projects in tribal regions. Beginning her visit in Bhubaneswar on February 2, the President will kick off her engagements in Odisha.
On February 3, President Murmu will participate in the convocation ceremony at Fakir Mohan University in Balasore, where she will also inaugurate a new auditorium, highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing higher education infrastructure in eastern India.
Moving to Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj district, on February 4, the President will unveil the statue of tribal leader Bhanjbir Sunaram Soren and interact with students at Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Mahuldiha. She will also launch various projects, including the Government Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, initiatives at the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) campus, an Archery Centre, and urban development works, emphasizing holistic progress in tribal areas.
President Murmu will engage with women and youth from tribal communities at Simlipal on February 6, known for its biodiversity and tribal heritage. Later that day, she will attend the ‘Black Swan Summit, India’ in Bhubaneswar, focusing on risk management and emerging opportunities in finance and technology sectors.
Wrapping up her visit on February 7, President Murmu will head to Chhattisgarh to inaugurate the ‘Bastar Pandum 2026’ festival in Jagdalpur, celebrating the cultural richness of Bastar’s indigenous communities and promoting tribal heritage to boost local tourism and economy.
