President Droupadi Murmu and North Macedonia’s President, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, revealed a Mahatma Gandhi bust at the Skopje Museum, symbolizing the friendship between India and North Macedonia. The bust signifies the shared commitment of both nations to peace, tolerance, and humanity. Additionally, the leaders paid homage at the Mother Teresa memorial in Skopje, where Mother Teresa was born and lived until 1928.
President Murmu, during her visit, addressed the North Macedonia Assembly, engaged in discussions with Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, and participated in the India-North Macedonia Business Forum. The leaders deliberated on bilateral ties and shared perspectives on regional and global matters of common interest. The visit emphasized the strong and amicable relations between the two countries, rooted in democratic values and mutual respect.
President Murmu also honored the Grave of Goce Delchev at the Church of Saint Spas in Skopje and was hosted for a luncheon by North Macedonia’s Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski. This visit to North Macedonia marks the second leg of President Droupadi’s three-nation tour, with the final stop scheduled in Romania from July 23 to 25, following an invitation from President Nicusor Dan. This visit holds significance as it will be the first by an Indian President to Romania in over three decades.
