President Droupadi Murmu of India is set to visit Visakhapatnam for a two-day trip to witness the International Fleet Review (IFR). As the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, she will oversee the ceremonial gathering of International Naval Delegations, Ships, Submarines, and Aircraft at IFR 2026. The event will commence with a Presidential Banquet followed by the review of a fleet comprising 70 ships from India and friendly nations.
Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice S. Abdul Nazeer (Retd) and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will also be present at the Fleet Review. The Indian Navy stated that the IFR highlights maritime strength, cooperation, and camaraderie while emphasizing sovereign oversight. Previous IFRs were hosted by India in 2001 in Mumbai and in 2016 in Visakhapatnam, showcasing warships, submarines, and aircraft from allied nations.
The upcoming IFR will feature the International City Parade, cultural exhibitions, and public engagement programs to celebrate global maritime heritage. Additionally, Visakhapatnam is hosting the 13th edition of MILAN, the Indian Navy’s flagship Multilateral Naval Exercise, and the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium Conclave. These events aim to strengthen professional bonds, share best practices, and enhance cooperation among navies from various countries.
