Telangana, established on June 2, 2014, as India’s 29th state after being separated from Andhra Pradesh, celebrates its Statehood Day annually on this date. The state’s formation marked the culmination of a prolonged democratic movement focused on preserving cultural identity, fostering economic growth, and ensuring self-governance.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan also extended greetings to Telangana, acknowledging its cultural heritage and contributions to national progress through creativity, innovation, hard work, and resilience. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Telangana’s spirit of innovation and enterprise, highlighting its rich culture and history of courage and determination. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the state’s growth for a prosperous India.
Home Minister Amit Shah wished Telangana continued success, recognizing its vibrant culture and entrepreneurial spirit as key drivers of progress and national pride. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also joined in the celebrations, reflecting on the state’s journey, sacrifices, and future aspirations. Telangana Statehood Day, observed as a public holiday across the state’s 33 districts, typically includes official ceremonies with the Chief Minister hoisting the national flag at the Secunderabad Parade Ground.
