The Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check unit refuted social media allegations that Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal were in London for a badminton event with judges. The PIB clarified that these claims were untrue and that neither minister was currently in London.
The Fact Check unit emphasized that the viral posts circulating online were misleading. It stated that the photos being shared widely on social media were not taken in London but during the All India Judges’ Badminton Championship at Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi in November 2025.
PIB Fact Check advised the public against sharing unverified information and urged them to rely on official sources for accurate updates. It also encouraged individuals to report any suspicious content related to the Central government for verification purposes.
To support its clarification, the PIB shared a previous post by Kiren Rijiju from November 29, 2025. In the post, Rijiju had shared pictures from the badminton championship and expressed his enjoyment of participating in the event with esteemed judges and officials.
