Samarth Singh, the main suspect in the case involving the death of model Twisha Sharma, underwent questioning in Bhopal. Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Singh emphasized that all his statements are being thoroughly checked during the investigation. The interrogation process is meticulous due to the need for verification of each claim made by the accused.
When questioned about Samarth Singh’s whereabouts during the ten days following Twisha Sharma’s demise on May 12, the Police Commissioner refrained from disclosing details, citing the ongoing investigation. Samarth Singh, the spouse of the deceased 33-year-old actor, was apprehended from the Jabalpur District Court premises after an unsuccessful surrender attempt. He was then brought to Bhopal and presented before a local court, which remanded him to seven days of police custody.
Regarding Samarth’s mother, Giribala Singh, preliminary questioning has been conducted, with further interrogation pending on various matters. The Commissioner confirmed that authorities had visited her residence as part of the investigative process. Dismissing claims of interference in the investigation, Singh assured that no tampering had occurred with the case file.
The Commissioner mentioned that once the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) formally takes over, the case diary will be handed to them. Until then, the Bhopal police will continue their investigation. The Madhya Pradesh government has already suggested a CBI inquiry into Twisha Sharma’s death. Twisha Sharma was discovered deceased at her marital residence in Katara Hills on May 12, and following a second autopsy by AIIMS Delhi doctors, her body was cremated in Bhopal.
