Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2026 as “enchanting,” highlighting its creativity, public involvement, and the city’s strong bond with nature. The event’s 14th edition was inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on New Year’s Day. Modi praised the show’s expanding scale and innovative concepts, reflecting Ahmedabad’s dynamic essence.
Held near the Sabarmati Riverfront close to the Atal Bridge, the flower exhibition boasts over 30 lakh flowers and will be open to the public until January 22, emerging as a visually captivating cultural display in the nation. This year’s theme, ‘Bharat Ek Gatha’ (India – A Saga), celebrates India’s cultural richness, unity, and historical journey through intricate floral setups.
A highlight of this year’s show is a colossal floral portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest flower portrait globally. Additionally, the exhibition showcases the world’s biggest flower mandala, setting new records for the event. The tribute aligns with the ongoing festivities commemorating Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.
The exhibition is divided into six thematic zones, each presenting various facets of India’s diverse cultural heritage, including festivals, traditional dances, mythology, and legacy. A special section, ‘Eternal India,’ emphasizes the nation’s ancient civilizational roots, with a grand 30-meter floral installation as the focal point. To enrich visitor experience, QR codes and audio guides have been introduced for detailed exploration of floral designs, sculptures, and themes.
The show offers a tiered ticketing system, with weekday tickets priced at Rs 80 and weekend tickets at Rs 100. Exclusive viewing slots from 8–9 a.m. and 10–11 p.m. are available at Rs 500 per person for a more personalized experience. The Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2026 not only showcases horticultural excellence but also celebrates India’s unity, creativity, and cultural diversity.
Featuring groundbreaking installations, technological innovations, and a rich cultural narrative, the event solidifies Ahmedabad’s position as a prominent cultural and tourism hub, providing visitors with a visually spectacular beginning to the New Year.
