Prime Minister Narendra Modi has landed in Nice, France, for an official State visit at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron. The visit will include programs in Evian and Paris, featuring bilateral and multilateral meetings to strengthen India’s friendships with key partners. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to engage in bilateral talks with President Macron in Nice on June 14 to review the entire spectrum of their bilateral relationship. The leaders will jointly inaugurate the ‘Bharat Innovates’ event, bringing together startups and venture capital funds from India, France, and other nations. This event, held during the ‘India-France Year of Innovation,’ highlights the robust innovation partnership between the two countries.
The visit signifies the ongoing high-level exchanges between India and France, aiming to enhance relations across various areas of cooperation, emphasizing innovation, science, technology, economy, culture, and people-to-people ties. This visit marks the first bilateral summit between Prime Minister Modi and President Macron in Nice following the elevation of ties to a “Special Global Strategic Partnership.” Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will attend the G7 Summit in Evian, France, on June 16-17, reflecting India’s role as a leading voice of the Global South.
On June 18, Prime Minister Modi will visit Paris to attend the VivaTech Summit alongside President Macron, Europe’s largest technology and startup event. The Indian pavilion at the VivaTech Summit will be the largest this year, showcasing India as a global hub for innovation, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship. The participation of Prime Minister Modi in ‘Bharat Innovates’ and VivaTech Summit is expected to foster new partnerships between Indian and European technology ecosystems.
