Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the prestigious “Sardar Gaurav Ratna” by Patidar community organizations in Vadodara. The award ceremony took place during the inauguration of a significant educational and residential complex established under the Sardar Dham initiative. The newly constructed Sardar Dham Bhavan-3 in Vadodara was also inaugurated during the event.
The complex, developed at a cost of approximately Rs 150 crore, covers an area of nearly 4.75 lakh square feet. It serves as a residential-cum-training facility for around 2,000 students, focusing on education and competitive exam preparation for youth from the community. The Sardar Dham initiative, inspired by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s legacy, emphasizes education, skill development, and social upliftment.
The Vadodara facility features hostel accommodations for both boys and girls, an e-library, examination training centers for UPSC and GPSC, counseling services, and an auditorium for community gatherings. The “Sardar Gaurav Ratna” is a prestigious accolade established by eight major Patidar community organizations to recognize contributions to social development and nation-building in line with Sardar Patel’s vision.
Sardardham Pramukh Sevak Gagji Sutariya highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s significant decisions, such as the abolition of Triple Talaq, the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the ‘Make in India’ initiative, and a new foreign policy approach. The award also acknowledges efforts to educate and empower youth through institutions like Sardar Dham, aiming to strengthen educational infrastructure and provide training and guidance access.
The event in Vadodara marked the official operational expansion of Sardar Dham’s third major center in Gujarat, with existing facilities already operational in Ahmedabad. Patidar community leaders emphasized the initiative’s alignment with Sardar Patel’s principles of unity and progress, focusing on long-term capacity building among youth through education and skill development.
