Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on May 11 for a series of religious, administrative, and community events in Gir Somnath and Vadodara. The visit will commence at the Somnath Temple where he will perform darshan. District Collector N.V. Upadhyay has overseen preparations, ensuring arrangements like power supply, traffic management, and security are in place.
Barricading and logistical measures are being implemented, with security being heightened and the administration on alert. Coordination meetings have been held in Gandhinagar to plan administrative and security aspects of the Prime Minister’s engagements. In Vadodara, Modi will inaugurate the Sardar Dham Bhavan-3, a complex with various facilities constructed near Vaghodia Crossing.
The complex, costing around Rs 150 crore and spanning 4.75 lakh square feet, features accommodation rooms, an NRI guest house, an e-library, and an auditorium. During the visit, Modi will be honored with the ‘Sardar Ratna’ award by leading Patidar community organizations for his social reform efforts. The event is expected to be attended by top officials including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
Sardar Dham Trust president Gajji Sutaria highlighted the inauguration’s significance under “Mission 2026” aimed at expanding educational infrastructure. The facility is part of a broader initiative focusing on youth development through educational and skill-building programs. Former Gujarat minister Gordhan Zadafia emphasized the complex’s role in providing holistic support for youth development.
