After bilateral talks with Albanese, Modi is scheduled to meet Australia’s Governor-General Sam Mostyn. Additionally, he will participate in the India-Australia CEOs Forum, addressing business leaders from both nations. The visit also includes an address to the Indian diaspora in Melbourne, emphasizing the importance of this community in the partnership.
Australian Prime Minister Albanese highlighted India’s significance as a key economic partner ahead of Modi’s visit. Describing the Australia-India relationship as crucial, Albanese emphasized the mutual benefits derived from cooperation in trade, defense, security, and technology. The deepening ties between the two countries are seen as fostering peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
India’s High Commissioner to Australia, Nagesh Singh, emphasized the growing bilateral relationship, noting Prime Minister Modi’s frequent visits as a testament to the strengthening ties between India and Australia.
