Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw expressed his emotions as he rejoined the Delhi Capitals camp at the Arun Jaitley Stadium for the upcoming IPL season starting on March 28. Shaw’s seven-year stint with Delhi ended when he was released before the IPL 2025 auction. Despite going unsold initially in the IPL 2026 Auction, Shaw eventually secured a contract with Delhi Capitals in the final round.
Delhi Capitals welcomed Shaw back with a video titled ‘Our Boy is back home,’ showcasing his return to the team. Shaw, reminiscing about his time at Kotla, expressed his attachment to the city and the team. Having been part of Delhi Capitals since his U-19 World Cup success in 2018, Shaw has played 79 matches for the team, scoring 1892 runs with 14 fifties.
The Delhi Capitals team, aiming for their maiden IPL title in the upcoming season, narrowly missed the playoffs in the previous edition. With a fresh start against Lucknow Super Giants on April 1 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, the team is eager to make a mark in the 19th IPL season.
