Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, accusing him of engaging in divisive politics during her visit to Assam. She alleged that the wealth of Assam was being unfairly distributed to a few industrialists and a specific family. Priyanka Gandhi called on the Chief Minister to present his government’s accomplishments and future plans instead of promoting societal divisions.

Priyanka Gandhi emphasized that the Congress party focuses on positive and constructive politics that aim to protect Assam’s culture, identity, and traditions. In contrast, she claimed that the ruling party is fostering hatred, polarization, and personal attacks against political rivals. Responding to queries about Rahul Gandhi’s legal matters, she stated that such actions by central agencies are viewed as a point of pride by the Congress.

The Congress leader urged the Chief Minister to clarify the concrete benefits provided to the people of Assam and to outline a clear development roadmap without resorting to divisive language. Priyanka Gandhi highlighted the aspirations of Assam’s youth for employment, opportunities, and progress, expressing confidence that voters would not be swayed by propaganda. She appealed to the people of Assam to opt for positive politics over hate and polarization, emphasizing inclusive development and social cohesion as the state’s true priorities.
