Priyansh Arya showcased a brilliant performance on the final day of the group stage in the 20th DY Patil T20 Cup by scoring an unbeaten 101 runs off just 41 balls for DY Patil Red, securing an eight-wicket win over CGST at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Arya’s exceptional innings included eight boundaries and nine sixes, reaching his century in a mere 40 balls, leading DY Patil Red to chase down CGST’s 149 for five in just 12.1 overs.
This victory set up a quarterfinal clash for DY Patil Red against DTDC, scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. Krunal Pandya, the skipper of DY Patil Red, also shone with the ball, taking two wickets for 22 runs, supported by Naman Tiwari (2-27) and Prince Badiani (0-19) who bowled tightly during the match on Monday night.
In another match on Monday evening, DTDC defeated CGST by 37 runs, despite an impressive all-round performance by Sanvir Singh (2-35 & 71). Earlier, Danish Malewar from Vidarbha played a crucial role by scoring 64 runs off 42 balls for Reliance, leading them to a thrilling one-run victory over Bank of Baroda. Malewar’s innings, which included nine fours, helped Reliance post a competitive total of 197/6 in 20 overs.
